Reflecting on 2025: Cura’s year of growth and impact

As 2025 draws to a close, it is a timely moment to reflect on a year shaped by progress across our business, our clients and the wider industry.

Over the past 12 months, we have strengthened our team, invested in new services and reinforced our commitment to positive environmental and social impact. Together, these efforts have created strong momentum as we look ahead to 2026.

Growth: Strengthening expertise and embracing new technologies

2025 was a year of growth both in capability and in how we support our clients.

We kicked off the year by strengthening our EMS and BMS teams - giving us a stronger foundation than ever for growth and customer-service excellence. This is already making an impact: we’re winning new customers and rolling-out new projects (many of which are for major brands). We’re also exploring some incredible partnership opportunities.

We also deepened our engagement with the sectors we serve as an Associate Member of the British Retail Consortium and a Supplier Member of UKHospitality. These memberships reflect our long-standing experience across retail and hospitality, particularly within complex, multi-site estates. Our work closely aligns with both organisations’ focus on operational efficiency and sustainability. We are acutely aware that operators must balance energy efficiency with guest comfort and service quality – and this is exactly where we Cura can help.

We also launched LiveEye - our next-generation energy management platform powered by Honeywell SaaS. LiveEye is the final piece in our EMS services ‘jigsaw’ and marks a new chapter for us. It enables us to deliver real-time, actionable insights and built to scale with ISO 27001 certification.

And finally… we invested in a new suite of brochureware designed to provide practical, actionable guidance for clients and partners. Cura’s brand assets have never looked in better shape!

People: We’re making a difference

People remain central to everything we do. In 2025, we continued to grow the Cura team and invest in wellbeing, inclusion and skills across the business.

We supported causes that matter to our people and our industry. This included raising awareness of Multiple Sclerosis, supporting the MS Stop appeal and promoting Men’s Mental Health initiatives such as Movember, CALM, Samaritans and Shout UK.

We also marked International Women’s Day. With women making up just 16.5 percent of the engineering workforce, we remain committed to challenging stereotypes and making STEM careers more accessible. It’s a topic our own MD, Carly Higglesden is passionate about.

Impact: Delivering measurable environmental progress

Environmental responsibility remained a key priority throughout 2025. In February, we partnered with leading climate action organisation and B Corp, Ecologi. This marked a significant step forward in our sustainability commitments.

Through this partnership, we fund the planting of 1,152 trees per year and offset 192 tonnes of CO₂e annually. We also committed to planting a tree for every client win, new hire and employee birthday. This places us alongside more than 24,000 businesses working towards a cleaner, greener future.

As we approach the start of 2026, we are firmly on track to meet, and potentially exceed, our first-year environmental targets. These actions reflect our commitment to delivering measurable impact, not just ambition.

Looking ahead

As we close out 2025, we are proud of what has been achieved here at Cura in just 12 months! With new projects underway, exciting partnerships taking shape, and Cura marking 15 years in business, 2026 promises to be another strong year. We’re all very excited by what the future holds.

Thank you to our clients, partners and our team for being part of the journey.
